We have long been familiar and understand the paid subscription to TV channels and services, but it was really difficult to assume that there would be a paid subscription to "removal of speed limits" for a car. And that's exactly what happened.
Mercedes-Benz offered its customers from the USA to remotely remove the speed limit from the engine for a surcharge.
As a result, the newly minted "subscribers" will be able to reduce the acceleration time to 100 km/h by 8-9 seconds. And more precisely, the power of their engine will instantly increase by 20-24% (depending on the car model).
It is worth noting that the paid subscription option will not be available to all Mercedes-Benz owners, but only to owners of several recent models - electric vehicles:
- Mercedes-EQ EQE 350 4MATIC,
- Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV 350 4MATIC,
- Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV 450 4MATIC.
And the payment for this "pleasure" will be $ 1200 per year.
The rich have their quirks, we heard. And now another example - a whole "special operation" had to be carried out in the Belgian city of Hasselt to raise a rare Porsche 919 Hybrid to the apartment of a collector - Luc Vanderfisten.
The well-known connoisseur and car dealer of Porsche - Luke Vanderfisten decided to enjoy the view of the rare Porsche 919 Hybrid right at home. It is known that Luke is the head of two car dealerships and the most dedicated connoisseur of the German brand Porsche.
Despite the fact that the collector's apartment is located on the 8th floor, he managed to "deliver" a unique car to his terrace with the help of a special crane.
Official information has been received on sales of the new Volkswagen Tavendor 2023 crossover, which will be supplied in 5 configurations. The car will be assembled jointly by two companies - Volkswagen and FAW. It is already being said that this will be the last model with a "classic" internal combustion engine, as the company plans to focus on the production of electric cars in the future. It is likely that a transitional line of hybrids will still be available for some time, but there will be no more internal combustion cars in their pure form.
The 2023 Volkswagen Tavendor costs $38,600 in the base trim, but for the "upgraded" version you will need to pay $45,700.
This crossover is based on the MQB platform. The length of the car is 4936 mm. The headlights of the car are LED, the illumination of the car logo and door handles looks especially elegant.
In the Hungarian city of Debrecen, a new plant from BMW will soon appear. We are talking about a fairly large project, which can become one of the largest in Europe. The Hungarian government is doing everything possible to keep foreign investors on its territory.
Peter Szijjártó (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary) shared the new plans of BMW in Munich. He was happy to report that he managed to establish stable work with the German auto industry, which will have a very beneficial effect on the development of the country's economy. The new plant will be built taking into account all norms and environmental requirements, as well as the most advanced technologies in the field of car production.
Bentley received a special order for convertibles from a dealer in Monaco. A special series of cars was supposed to display a "nautical theme". This is how a separate line of cars appeared - Continental GT Convertible, in particular, a series called - Mulliner Riviera Collection.
Bentley did a great job. They have created three models of cars that are fully consistent with the aesthetics of the Côte d'Azur, as a great addition to the surrounding superyachts.
The marine "notes" of the Mulliner Riviera Collection are manifested in many small details. The first highlight is a special body color scheme offering the colors Aegean Blue, Aquamarine and Caribbean Blue. At the same time, even the carbon fiber parts of the car are painted. The interior uses wooden inserts in the design of the center console, reminiscent of deck masonry on a ship. Also added are decorative embroidered floor elements in the form of nautical knots. Upholstery in light beige leather with Alcantara inserts.
Another scandal involving eco-activists this time touched on Volkswagen. The incident occurred between radical representatives of the environmental movement Scientist Rebellion group and employees of the Volkswagen Group.
On October 19, activists of the Scientist Rebellion eco-movement decided to hold their action at the Volkswagen Autostadt exhibition center in Wolfsburg (Germany). While 6 activists created a distraction by opening their posters outside the showroom entrance, 9 members of the Scientist Rebellion group got inside the pavilion and glued themselves to the floor...
Further, they went on a hunger strike and put forward demands to completely abandon gasoline and diesel engines in favor of electric vehicles, reduce harmful emissions from large enterprises, and also demanded the introduction of speed limits for highways to 100 km/h.
A final decision has been made by "Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Rus" subsidiary to sell its premium car manufacturing plant in Russia. It is worth noting that this plant was built quite recently - in 2019 its construction began, and in 2021 it was already put into operation. Its cost amounted to about 15 billion rubles and provided for the production of 25-30 thousand. cars per year. But already in March 2022, the plant completely stopped due to the full-scale military aggression of Russia against Ukraine.
Subsequently, Mercedes-Benz once again demonstrated their clear position regarding Russia's war in Ukraine. The agreement on the sale of the plant and the official withdrawal of Mercedes-Benz from the Russian market has already been signed.
