Understaffed Chevrolet cars are leaving the assembly line - what's the matter?

The shortage of semiconductors in the market began to affect the automotive industry. Some manufacturers, in particular - Chevrolet, have decided to "do" without the missing components. As a result, cars without parking sensors began to go on sale. An alternative to this decision could only be a reduction in production. It is worth noting that some manufacturers have chosen this option. But Chevrolet decided not to cut production in general, but simply change the basic equipment for a number of lines. The first without microchips will be the Camaro sports car, in which this system was previously installed by default. They also decided to "save" on parttronics in other models, namely: Corvette, Silverado 1500, as well as in all versions of the ZR2 and Trailblazer SUVs. It was also decided to remove the basic assistance system for front and rear parking in the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban models. Cars with a "stripped down" configuration have already left the assembly line and went to the first owners. Unfortunately, company representatives are still not ready to make any predictions about when the situation with microchips on the market will change for the better. There is no data on whether it will be possible to install the missing systems later. Questions of discounts for cars without parking sensors, Chevrolet has also left unanswered. It remains to be hoped that this situation will not last long and that the shortage of microchips will be eliminated in the near future.
