It's hard to believe, but 30 years ago, on January 12, 1991, the world first saw the concept of a futuristic car Mercedes-Benz F 100, designed for three passengers. Much has changed since then, but nevertheless, a significant part of the innovations introduced then still went into mass production. Considering this model today, it is hard to believe that this design is 30 years old. And what then seemed fantastic has long become a part of our daily life. Here's how innovations entered our lives: - 1995, model E-Class (210th series) - xenon headlights were installed for the first time; - 1996, the CL Coupe (C140) received a rain sensor as standard; - 1998, model E-Class (W220) - for the first time there were phone control buttons on the steering wheel. The DISTRONIC system appeared in the S-Class model - control of the distance of the car in front; - 1999, coupe model CL (C215) - an electronic tire pressure monitoring system appeared. In the same year, the keyless entry option appeared for the S-Class (W210); - 2005, model S-Class (W221) - rear view camera added; - 2007, S-Class (W221) added Active Blind Spot Assist, which is responsible for detecting cars and pedestrians in blind spots. The amazing Mercedes-Benz F 100 was already capable of lane keeping and had built-in solar panels to generate up to 100 watts. Also, a personal computer and a fax machine were built into it - relevant at that time. If we consider the "stuffing" of the car, then its engine was hydrogen! It is worth noting that modern production cars have not yet switched to hydrogen, but fuel cell technology has been actively tested in recent years and it is highly likely that we will soon be able to see new generation cars on the roads. With its Mercedes-Benz F 100, the company has established a great tradition of introducing the company's innovations and most advanced developments in all subsequent Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the designation "F". These were:
- Mercedes-Benz F 200 Imagination (1996),
- Mercedes-Benz F 300 Life Jet (1997),
- Mercedes-Benz F 400 Carving (2002),
- Mercedes-Benz F 500 Mind (2003),
- Mercedes-Benz F 600 HYGENIUS (2005),
- Mercedes-Benz F 700 (2007),
- Mercedes-Benz F 800 Style (2010),
- Mercedes-Benz F 125! (2011)
- Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion (2015).
This is how dreams become reality, and concepts become everyday life, and on behalf of all connoisseurs of the Mercedes-Benz brand, we thank the developers and innovators for how their work will change our World for the better.
