Mazda takes a bold step into the world of electric vehicles — the all-new Mazda 6e is entering the European market. This is the fourth generation of the iconic model, now fully electric and presented in a new liftback body style. Instead of front-wheel drive like its predecessors, the new 6e features rear-wheel drive. And in place of the classic sedan is an elegant, aerodynamic silhouette with design elements inspired by the Mazda CX-60.

The new model is priced between €44,900 and €46,500. Its official premiere took place at the Brussels Motor Show, and it will go on sale in the coming months. The Mazda 6e features a completely redesigned interior: a digital instrument cluster, a massive 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a head-up display on the windshield, and dual-zone climate control. A 14-speaker Sony audio system comes standard. The car also offers two trunks — a main rear trunk with 330 liters of space and a 70-liter front trunk.

There are two versions available. The base model is equipped with an electric motor producing 258 horsepower and a 68.8 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 479 km and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The top version is slightly less powerful — 245 hp — and accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, but thanks to an 80 kWh battery, it can travel up to 552 km on a single charge. Both versions have a limited top speed of 175 km/h.

Even the base configuration of the Mazda 6e looks impressive: a panoramic roof, power-adjustable seats, adaptive cruise control, and a full set of safety systems. The Takumi Plus version offers a more premium finish: Nappa leather, genuine wood trim, and an extended head-up display feature set.

Interestingly, the Mazda 6e was developed in collaboration with Chinese automotive giant Changan. In fact, the model is based on the platform of the Chinese electric car Deepal SL03 but has received a unique design, Mazda’s proprietary tuning, and adaptations for the European market. This approach allowed Mazda to quickly enter the EV segment without compromising on quality or style.

The Mazda 6e is more than just another electric car. It's the revival of a legendary model in a new format — a blend of refined design, advanced technology, and everyday practicality. This electric newcomer is poised to compete with models like the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4, especially amid growing demand for eco-friendly transport in Europe.
