Toyota has officially unveiled two exclusive versions of the GR Supra sports car, marking the final chapter in the story of the fifth-generation model. The release of the GR Supra A90 Final Edition and GR Supra Lightweight EVO is limited to just 300 units for the European and Japanese markets — making them especially valuable for collectors and brand enthusiasts.
The Lightweight EVO modification is based on the standard version with a manual transmission and a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 340 hp. However, Toyota GAZOO Racing engineers significantly upgraded the chassis: adaptive dampers were retuned, the active differential's operation optimized, stabilizers reinforced, and the front wheel camber angles adjusted for improved cornering grip.

The body rigidity was also enhanced thanks to aluminum stabilizer brackets and a new underbody brace. Visually, the model features a more aggressive look — including matte black 19-inch forged wheels, enlarged Brembo front brake discs (374 mm) with red paint and GR logos, a carbon spoiler, additional aerodynamic elements around the wheel arches, and extended side skirts.

The interior includes sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, red seat belts, decorative accents around the gear lever, and GR-branded embroidery on the headrests. The A90 Final Edition is the highlight of the final release — based on the BMW Z4 engine but boosted to 441 hp and 571 Nm. Toyota achieved this power increase through a new ECU tune, a freer-flowing catalytic converter, improved intake, and Akrapovič titanium mufflers. The top speed is now 275 km/h.

The suspension system has also been significantly upgraded: KW adjustable dampers (16 rebound and 12 compression levels), reinforced stabilizers and body components, extended camber angles, and wider, grippier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Brembo brakes with ventilated discs (395 mm front, 345 mm rear) are paired with braided hoses for improved pedal response under heavy braking.

To ensure stability under high loads, an additional radiator, improved cooling fans, and a new differential cover with enlarged heat-dissipating fins have been installed. An oil pan baffle plate was also added to prevent oil starvation during high lateral loads.

The A90 Final Edition's exterior is finished in matte black and equipped with an aerodynamic body kit inspired by the Supra GT4 race car: a front carbon splitter, arch flanges, canards, a hood cutout, and a massive rear wing with "swan neck" mounts. All components were tested in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe wind tunnel.

The interior is a true sports cockpit: RECARO Podium CF racing seats with Alcantara upholstery (red for the driver, black for the passenger), red seat belts, carbon trim, and a specially designed steering wheel. Every element is designed to ensure maximum body stability during extreme driving.
Both versions of the Supra were created not just as a striking finale, but as a thank-you to the model’s fans. It was thanks to community support that the idea to revive the Supra was born, and in 2019, the sports car returned after a 17-year break. Toyota President Akio Toyoda personally participated in the development of the fifth generation, testing the model on the Nürburgring and giving it the green light.
Today, the GR Supra takes its final bow in its current form, but the spirit of the model — born in motorsport and inspired by racing technology — promises to return, possibly in a sixth generation.
