The new Citan compact van from Mercedes-Benz is ready to conquer the market. The first prices were announced, according to which the cost of the car will not exceed 20 thousand euros. Recall that the official presentation of the Mercedes-Benz Citan took place on August 25, 2021. The car is offered in two versions - cargo and cargo-passenger Tourer. The capacity of the cargo compartment is up to 2.9 cubic meters, and the carrying capacity is up to 782 kg. The rear doors of the car are open-ended with an opening width of 61.4 cm and 105.9 cm. A trailer with a weight of up to 1.5 tons can be connected. The car received LED headlights with a color temperature of 5500K. As the engineers assure, this is very close to daylight, which has a temperature of 6500 K, and due to this, the visual load of the driver is reduced. In addition, LEDs use up to 75% less energy than other types of lighting. As for the engine, the manufacturer offers as many as 5 options to choose from. It could be: - diesel engine 1461 cc, 75, 95 or 116 hp - gasoline engine 1332 cm3, 102 or 131 hp All engine options comply with Euro 6d environmental standards. Fuel consumption for a diesel engine is 5.0 - 5.4 liters, and for a gasoline engine - 6.4 - 7.1 liters. The gearbox is 6-speed, but a 7-speed is also available for the most powerful engines. The safety of the Citan van is provided by 6 airbags - frontal, side and window airbags. And in the passenger version there is an additional - May 7th pillow, located between the driver's and passenger's seats. Also improved is the emergency braking assistance system, which reduces the braking distance from a speed of 120 km / h by 6 meters. Particularly noteworthy is the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) car multimedia system with built-in voice recognition in 28 languages. The color palette for Citan consists of 9 body colors, 5 of which are metallic. Orders for these cars will open in September 2021 with a starting price of 23,800 euros, so the cost of the base model will not exceed 20,000 euros. An all-electric version of the eCitan is also ready for production and will be available for order in the second half of 2022. This model will receive a power reserve of 280 km. and charging speed up to 40 minutes for a charge from 10% to 80%. The eCitan model provides 8 lithium-ion battery modules located under the floor.
